Rosetta Walk and Mary Jane Warf are also in my family history. I just talked with a lady from Walls, MS who also
is in our family. Crockett Walk was my great grandfather.
He had two seperate families. Our family in Dyer Co. TN is from the second set of children from his second wife -
Alice. His first wife was Mary. Can't find his ancestors.
I believe he was born in Virginia - possibly in 1844.

Since I can't seem to get a 'response' into the Lauderdale-RootsWeb any other way, I am using your recent posting.

I was attempting to locate your James for you, but then I realized that you didn't give any possible time frame.

When I get tired of banging my head against my own brick walls, I search postings to see if there is anyone that I might be able to assist, with the materials I have. Right now, I have been roaming the counties of TN, trying to find people to help, by locating their parents/siblings on the 1880 census CD ROMs that I have. It dawned on me, that IF a person was alive at all in 1880, then I SHOULD be able to locate them, and most likely they will be with their parents or their family. I have been having great success, thanks be to God, and I really get a warm fuzzy feeling, when they contact be back, and let me know that what I do, helps them.

Just today, a lovely lady who was attempting to locate her ancestors, told me as an after thought, that they were Black or Mulatto. That is something else that helps me to help you.

If you need me to try to locate your people, PLEASE give me BASICS:
1: As much of their name as you know
2: A possible time frame of their birth
3: A parent's name if known
4: Probable state of birth
5: Their race
6: Their spouse's name
7: Siblings names if known
8: Even a profession if known

I know that you will not know every thing to give me, but as much of the above as you are able to provide. Normally I will get back to you within the same day. (This computer is my therapy and therapist, I spend almost 15 hours a day on it.)

I am Barbra Jean, and you can contact me at: Ray1693@aol.com

James Cherry Leggett was my g g grandfather. His son Frances Marion Leggett was my great grandfather. Ina Elizabeth Leggett Fennel was the daughter of Frances Marion Leggett and my grandmother. I have done some research on the family, but any information that you could pass along would be appreciated. Do you have any information on Frances M. Leggett's wife Tulula Caldwell? I know that she came to Tennessee from Georgia when she was a child. I would like to know her parents name. Thanks, Ann James
