According to Lake County Marriage Records, a Mr C.P. CLARK married a Ms R.L. ALLEN on Nov 25th 1888. What became of her? On July 28th 1895, Mr C.P. Clark married my Great-GM, Susan L. BOX DENTON, who was a widow with 2 small sons, Armindy T.(b:1886) and Oscar F. Denton (b:1890). According to my Grandmother's Bible, the "C" in C.P. Clark stood for Calvin. I was told by an aunt that the story passed down is that Calvin P. Clark died around 1897 and was buried in Lake Co at Crockett Chapel Cemetery near Reelfoot Lake in an unmarked grave near a tree.
Calvin P. Clark & Susan had two sons: John Alvin (1895) and Reuben W. Clark. Alvin moved to Memphis but Reuben, my GF, lived in Lake Co, Dyer Co and later Gibson Co. If anyone can help in obtaining more info on these people, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks & take care, Eddy G. Clark
