Seeking parents of five Abel brothers who came to Tennessee from South Carolina in early 1800's. Brothers were James, John, Joseph, Moses and Thomas Abel. This Abel familiy moved to Tennessee prior to 1818. At least two of the brothres were married in Knox Co. (John married Rhoda Johnson in 1818 & Moses married Elizabeth (Betsy) McHenry in 1823. The 1850 census finds four of the five brothers in Alabama, James having died in Cherokee Co., Alabama in 1849. James' widow (Jane Morrison) and childrn listed in 1850 Cherokee Co., Alabama census. Moses was in Calhoun (Benton Coo., and Joseph, John and Thomas were in Randolph Co., Alabama in 1850.

This Abel family came to Tennessee between 1808 & 1818 & moved to Alabama around 1843/4.
