Hi everyone, I’m looking for information regarding the parentage of Jennie Campbell (Ray) Woodring. Jennie was born in 1860 (NC) and died in 1942 in Meat Camp, Watauga Co., NC. She had one daughter Alice Elizabeth Campbell (father unknown) before she married Joseph H. Woodring (1860-1942) of Meat Camp. They had the following children: Rosa E., Simon Peter, Joshua Mccoy, William Floyd and Lawson Cicero. I am looking for Jennie’s father. Her death certificate lists her father as John Ray and her mother as “Cindy Camel” also known as Lucinda Campbell, daughter of John Ruffin Johnson Campbell and Hannah Blackburn. According to Cindy’s death certificate she was never married. The words single, widowed, divorced were crossed thru and “Single” written in. Does anyone know who this John Ray is that fathered her child? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
