Is anyone researching the Gilmore Family that came from N.C. to Jackson Co. TN. by 1840. Listed in Jackson Co. TN. in the 1840 and 1850 census. William Gilmore b.1790, wife Winna Gilmore b.1795, children listed in 1850, James, Nancy, Elijah, Ellen. Older children already married or left the household by 1850, Edith, John L., Samuel, William Jr., Elizabeth, and another unknown daughter Gilmore. I descend through Elizabeth Gilmore b. 1828 and married John Smith b. 1827. Surely there are more descendants still living who know more about this Gilmore Family.
