I know that you have been in touch with Tracey (I also work at the American Antiquarian Society) and are getting copies of some letters. I am reading through Catherine Pierson's correspondence because I have a place in Richmond, Mass. just a few miles south of Pierson Place. I will pull together my notes and send you information about the family -- for example, in my reading last week, I found that James's son Seth in 1846 is living in New Orleans for his health (as someone who has lived in N.O., this seems crazy). Sorry, that I hadn't checked in for such a long time.
