You need to check in the book by Gordon Turner; History of Scott's Hill Tennessee. It does have detailed info on that surname Duck, Kennedy, Austin, etc. If not I do believe the Ducks came from North Carolina. I have the surname Duck in my ancestry as well from Henderson county Tn. as well as some of my Austin surnames cross lines with Kennedy and Duck surnames as well as Jones, Dodd, Morgan, Todd, Hart, Mitchell,Woodward, Morgan, Douglas-Douglass, Barrett, Finley, etc.
