Searching for any information on Alfred Stanley, born abt 1750 probably in VA. Alfred is said to have fought in the War of Lord Dunsmoore and received a land grant in Tennessee for this service. He established in that part of Tennessee that is now Hawkins Co. In 1777 his first wife and child were killed by Indians. Shortly after this Alfred left this area and presumably went back to Virginia, and may have gone to North Carolina from there. Alfred remarried and had at least one more son, Rickles Stanley, who has many descendants in Tennessee.
