I am seeking infomation on the following Rutledges, Thomas, Lorenza (Lorenzo), Emmanuel (they are brothers) all in the 1830 Hawkins Co. census or their parents Sarah and Jackson Rutledge. In particular marriage date for Thomas Rutledge to ? Wilson and Death dates for Sarah and Jackson Rutledge.

I have a little info on these brothers. I'm a descendant of Emanuel through his son Samuel C. Rutledge. However, your best source is probably Darryl Gardner in Rogersville, TN. I've been in and out of genealogy over the past few years.

I might have some dates at home on Thomas, I'll check and see. As to finding anything on Jackson Rutledge, I wish you the best of luck. We've been looking for this illusive fellow for years now, and wonder if he existed at all. Of all my ancestors, and eventually, we come to a roadblock on them all, he is the one I want to find most. Should you get him in your sights please write.

I descend from Thomas and his second wife Jane Hall Pope through their son John W. Rutledge. Jane's parents were Benjamin and Mary Hall. Jane also had a brother Franklin born 1829, and two unknown brothers born between 1826-1835. Below is my direct line to Thomas; I have more information, including old family photos of John W's family that I'd be happy to share.

Also, Thomas first wife, the unknown Wilson, I believe to be the daughter of one Stephen Wilson as his other daughter Sarah Kate married Thomas' brother Emmanuel.

I came across Rutledge information connecting Thomas, Emmanuel, Lorenzo D., Lucy, and their mother Sarah to the Hickory Baptist church. It looks like Thomas Rutledge's wife was Mary "Polly" Wilson. There's a lot of information to be found at the site below, of special interest to those of us researching Rutledges. Takes a bit of going over, but well worth it for all the surnames contained.
