Her name was Malinda Harrell.According to my family hx., she was the daughter of William Henry Harrell and Matilda Johnson Harrell. Malinda was b.c.1824 in N. C., and was very young when her parents came to Tn. by Oxen cart. According to fam hx. she had a sister Elizabeth bc 1831,Rosetta[Rose] bc 1828, a brother James Washington bc 1836[this is my gr-grandfather] William Henry Harrell and Matilda Johnson Harrell is my roadblock. I have been in contact with another Absalom Overton descendant, and he sent me infro. on Malinda's descendants.
My family has always spelled our name Harrell, but in old records you find it spelled many different ways. Hope this helps. Will be glad to share any infro. My email is boothphn@aol.com.
Marilyn Harrell Booth

I know this was posted over 4 years ago, but I just found it.

I am researching my wife's ancestors and found this reference to Absalom Overton. Absalom was her gr-gr-grandfather. I know his wife's name was Malinda, but the last name was not certain. It was documented in some places as Harriel, Hamel, and Harrell. I would like to get information that we could use in filling in the missing pieces.

I am researching my great-great grandfather, James Madison Davis, born in Hardeman Co., TN Nov. 05, 1827. I don't have good information on his parents. I'm pretty sure his mother's name is Margaret. His father's name could be William B.. James married Mary C. Brown in 1851 in Winston Co., MS. I have traced him to Apopka, FL, where he died in 1918. Any information on his parents will be appreciated.

John Poindexter family: Hardeman County: 1830's and 1840's.

I'm looking for a will for John Poindexter who lived in Madison County in 1820 but soon moved to Hardeman County where he apparently lived for about 20 years when he seems to have died there in about 1840. He had at least three daughters and a wife several years younger than he. He was born about 1785-88, his wife was born just after 1790. She may have been named Susannah--maiden surname is totally unknown. I believe my Emily Poindexter b. 15 Dec. 1812 was one of his daughters and that she married in that county in April, 1832 to William A.D. Dunlap. Thus, I'm also looking for Poindexter marriages in this county in the mid to late 1820's through early 1840's.

William A.D. Dunlap (b. 1813 Montgomery County, TN--but most of his family was in Humphreys County, and then expanded south and west from there) and Emily Poindexter had the following children who survived infancy: Jane Hannah b. 1833, Nancy Ellen b. 1836, Christopher Columbus b. 1837, Thomas Sidney b. 1839, William Samuel b. 1840, (twins) John C. and Rufus J. b. 1848, and Ida May b. 1854.

The name William Samuel is the only Dunlap name (for William A.D.'s father and grandfather). Ellen is also a Dunlap name, from William A.D. Dunlap's mother. Jane may also be a Dunlap name, but the rest appear to be connnected to the Poindexter family.

Any documented information on this family is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, Mrs. Cecilia L. Fabos-Becker, San Jose, CA
email: celia.lfsbecker@sbcglobal.net (all small letters, no numbers)

Sorry abt that. I put a comma between bellsouth & net instead of a period. Just in a hurry to answer. Actually Issac Mcfadden, RW, of SC was first mar to an Elizabeth Steele & later mar Mary Adams?. I descend from Catherine/Catey Ewing McFadden Patten>then Elizabeth Olivia Patton Neal Gilliam>Allene Olivia Gilliam Jones>Millard Hunter Jones>Fred Tyrrell Jones>ME:Mary Tyrrell Jones Bond.
The Elizabeth Steele McFadden who mar Samuel Miller was fron the 2nd mar. I was lucky enough to get in touch with one of the premier genealogists, Emilly Ann Croom several years ago. She is also descended from one of Catey's ch:
Margaret Catherine Patton Coleman from Fayette Co, later lived in TX (my family stayed in the Fayette-Haywood area, particular the Dancyville TN area-- I lived in Stanton & Brownsville almost all of my life until I gor a divorce & moved to Memphis) Emily had used the family as an example in a workbook she wrote(The Unpuzzling Your Past Workbook)
which I just happen to buy. When I found my family there, I could have cried. She has written Issac McFadden Descendants, which is a soft bound book. She can be reached at 542 Chelsea, Bellaire TX 77401-5008, email:eacroom@comcast.net Do you know of the
older generations? They were quite an interesting family.
Very strong reformed Presbyterians who carried their faith
with them. One of Issac Sr bros Guy, went to Tipton Co & there are some relatives there.Another bro Ralph mar into the McKinney fam of Fayette Co & their dau Elizabeth mar a
Culp. Some of the older McFaddens who stayed in SC later had children who emigrated to Brazil after the Civil War. I
corresponded with one a few years ago. I would be glad to share my material but right now I am trying to reconstruct
some computer losses. I have paper copies thank God. I just have to re-enter the stuff. My mailing address is Ms Tyrrell
J Bond, 2660 Stout Rd Cove, Memphis TN 38119, cell pphone:901 484 6241. Later, Tyrrell

The Heath line I'm referring to, started with Ryland Heath, in KY. He married Anna M Gilbert in 1808 in Greene County, GA. They were living in Livingston County sometime after the war of 1812.

Their Children;

William D Heath, born 1809 in GA, died in Ballard Co., KY
(my line) he married Eliza Husbands, daughter of Harmon Husbands and Sarah Renshaw.

Ira Heath, born in 1810, Green Co., GA

BMG Heath, aka Sam, born in 1812, Green Co., GA, He married Narcissa Williams.

Robert Heath, born 1815, Livingston Co., KY, married Arcadia Baker

Harrison Heath, born 1817, Livingston Co., KY, married Mariah Berry Hughes. Lived in TN

John Heath, born abt 1823, Livingston Co, KY

Enoch Heath, MD, born in 1832, Livingston Co, KY, married Anna Hughes, lived in Gleason, TN

Daughters;

Emily Melissa Heath, married William Newcom

Nancy Heath, born abt 1821, Livingston Co., KY. Married A B Rankin.

I know I'm forgetting someone.

My Daughter was recently diagnosed with Hereditary Neuropathy. There are varying degrees of the disease, and varying sub or phenotypes, ranging from no symptoms, to severe.

The symptoms are, starts, usually in the hands and feet, with numbness, tingling and sometimes severe pain, depending on which subtype. the pins and needles progress slowly, usually, in my case, the progression has been upward from my feet, now consumes my whole body with constant tingling. I don't have pain, and mine is mostly sensory. My Mother, daughter of William Jackson Heath, born in Graves Co., KY in Sept 1887, died in 1991, her's was severe, sensory and motor, also affecting her breathing. My Daughter, 44 yrs is closer to what my Mom had.

It also has a hold on one Aunt, my Brother, my Niece, my Son. My Mom was the first known case in our family.

The variation in onset is from infants, first decade to 8th decade. Research is on going, knowing the cause and gene of some of the subtypes.

Awareness and educating yourself are key. There isn't any treatment yet, except treating the symptoms. I have 5 Granddaughters, ranging in age from 23 down to 14, all need to be checked.

Jolene

Margaret Heath Brent Howell lived in Hardeman Co., Tn from abt the mid 1830s - 1863, when she died.

Hi,
I looked in all the marriage records for James Lawson Coalman and Della Scroggins, but couldn't find anything. I did find them and their child Willie Pearl. Sorry, I wish I could have found them for you.

I am looking for documents for my Great Granparent's marriage. They were James Lawson Coleman born July 27, 1861 and Della Scroggins born June 14, 1865. Their marriage was in 1881 in Hardeman County Tennessee. If there is anyone that could help, I would be very thankful.

Merrill Hannah Roan

Terri,
I have not found info on George and Rutha Oliver past the 1850 Census of Hardeman Co., TN. I understand that they moved to MS with a son. I will research further. My g-grandmother, Mary Welch Ragan, is a sister to Thomas Franklin Welch. I have data of all of the Welch siblings. Please contact me at slpstk@eplus.net for more data.
James H. Ragon
