From Chattanooga obituaries and city directories:
Thomas N. SUTTON, 65, died December 12, 1953 in Chattanooga. He was a Saw Operator for Chattanooga Box and Lumber Company, and lived with his wife Mary (HARRIS) SUTTON at 604 Battery Place in Chattanooga.
He was survived by wife Mary; daughter Peggy Ann; and mother Harriet (JONES) SUTTON.
Harriet was the widow of Alfonso SUTTON. In 1954 and 1955, she was living with Mary and Peggy Ann (a student) at the Battery Place address.
The next year, the three were living in the Battery Apartments at 307 Lindsay Street, Apt. 4-A.
In 1957, the apartment was vacant and the three were not listed in the city directory.
Harriet died late in May 1964 in Chattanooga, after living for a long time with her niece Mrs. Hannah PERRY at 925 East Main Street.
She was survived by her granddaughter Mrs. Peggie BOND of Chattanooga, and by three nieces: Mrs. Alice SHIPLEY; Mrs. Lula SHIPLEY; and Mrs. Lizzie RENO, all of Sale Creek (Hamilton County), Tennessee.
