Was reading about your Thomas King.I looked up that name in the Coffee Co.,TN Heritage Book and found this tidbit.Hope it is of some use.
SLAVES AND FREE BLACKS IN COFFEE COUNTY: PART 5 SLAVE PROPERTY DISPOSED OF IN LAST WILLS AND TESTAMENTS........Thomas King, June- 08-1836...."to my daughter Hannah Parten a negro girl Ann about eight months old which she has in her possession for her own seperate use and benefit and not for the use,benefit or control of her said husband during my said daughter's natural life and at her death the said negro girl and her increase to be divided among the children of my said daughter Hannah Parten"
