I'm looking for any information on the parents/siblings of John Hood (born between 1780-1790 and death in 1820), possibly in Greene County, TN. He married Keziah Lane on 3 February 1809 in Greene County, TN. They had four children: Dutton Hood (B-27 Jan 1811), John Hood (B-1 Jan 1812), Margaret "Peggy" Hood (B-1813) and Rebecca Hood (B-1818).

Any help would be appreciated, as we have hit a "brick wall" with this John Hood. There were apparently 2-3 men in Greene County, TN at the same time with this name. We have been unable to link with any of them.

Sorry I can't directly assist you with your lines, but you might check out Cocke County, TN it adjoins Greene County. Greene County was also the parent County of Cocke County. I know there where both Hood & Lane families who settled in Cocke County. There was a courthouse fire, but there are still is census, cemetery records, deeds & newspaper abstracts & etc. available.

Thanks for the information on the Hood lines. I am determined to move beyond the "brick wall" that has faced us for so long! I will keep the information you sent and look in Roane County TN as well.
