My ancestors appear to be Scot-Irish Presbyterians. Jesse Davis b. 1782 is buried in Cross Anchor Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery. Joshua Corbin Lane and his wife Margaret are buried in New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery ( I think thats the name of it.) Anyway, Thomas Davis is credited as having helped start 2 congregations in Greene County. Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian (With Thomas Lane) and New Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian
church.
