From 1890 Veterans Census of Madison, abstracted by Sally Seaman-Williams, page 26, Meadowfork Township:
Ward, Joseph; was a private, Co.B, 8th TN Regiment; enlisted 8 Jan. 1863; discharge 16 June 1865; Post Office was Lynch.
[since this census was intended only for Union vets, and the discharge of June, 1865----- looks like Joseph was in the Union Army
attempting to gain further info.

I know Mary E. (Etta ) Ward m. Robert Edward Lee Morris (these were my great grandparents) and relocated to the McDowell, Buncombe area of NC
