Hello, can anyone tell me where the Shields Private Cemetery is located? Is this the same as the Shields Cemetery as I know that location.
I have an ancestors (PASCHALs' and possibly HUGHES) who are now buried in the Holston Church Cemetery, according to "Grainger County, TN, Cemetery Records Vol. II". It also notes that they were removed from the Shields Private Cemetery and reinterred at Holston and there are also 164 unknown graves.
Why were the remaines moved? Is there now any information on the 164 unknown graves? Is the Shields Private Cemetery the same as the Shields Cemetery?
