Marriages of all Eli McDaniels that occurred in North Carolina
1. Eli McDaniel to Elizabeth "Betsey" Griffin August 12, 1794 bondsman James Christmas
2. Eli McDaniel to Sarah Nichols in 1793 rest of bond unreadable
however the bondsman on this marriage is John McDaniel
3. Eli McDaniel to Sally Pickett September 9, 1808 Bondsman John Odaniel
4. Eli McDaniel Jr to Fanney Warson November 2, 1816 bondsman John McDaniel
5. Eli McDaniel to Nancey Pearson January 5, 1821 in Burke County North Carolina bondsman Wm Deal
Remember in North Carolina bondsmen are usually related.
The above shows me that some of the McDaniels remained in North Carolina also Burke County is from Wilkes and Wilkes eventually goes back to Orange. Also the Elizabeth above was born February 23, 1773 in Orange County and that date is from the records of the Griffen family and she married under Betsey her nickname.
I think this family goes something like this and am still working on it so please add anything you have or ideas or correct me if you believe different and tell me why I just would like to get it straight.

(Note some of the descendants of Peter were in Illinois and some of this is from the Meriem Wright Collection in Charleston, Illinois however they have the dates somewhat different than the bible record of a Balda McDaniel) the dates they have are John-1740, Eli P. McDaniel 1742, William 1744, Mary 1750, James 1752, Daniel 1754, Sarah 1761, and Peter with the exact same date of December 26, 1763 in Chatham County, North Carolina. The first dates given also match the Rucker Family Genealogy with their ancestors, descendants and connections by Sudie Rucker Wood by the Old Dominion Press Richmond Virginia

Eli McDaniel son of John and Mary Ely born 1742 in Virginia and died after April 20, 1789 in North Carolina was a Major in 1776 and served in Col. William O'Neals North Carolina Regiment for the Continental Army. He married Margaret Lindsey who was born about 1742 and they married about 1760 in North Carolina (Does anyone have a date I have not found the marriage record as of Yet)

John McDaniel born November 30, 1760 in Orange County, North Carolina married Margaret Russell on July 23, 1783 she was born March 28, 1762 in Orange County, North Carolina and is the daughter of Alexander Russell and Elizabeth Craig and her father was from Ireland. This is the one they try to say is mine and it is not! He died 1824 in Orange County, North Carolina and had the following children:

Now Eli McDaniel (who I call Jr to keep them straight) born 1869 in Orange County, NC married Elizabeth "Betsey" Griffin on August 12, 1794 in Orange County, North Carolina and had the following children that I know of but I know I do not have all of them. He died between Oct 1808 and Feb 1809 in Orange County and his will is dated October 8, 1808 but was not filed and until Feb Term of the 1809 Court.
1. John McDaniel born about 1795 on Cane Creek in Orange County North Carolina and died in Grainger Countyabout 1845
I have the exact same children and dates and marriages that you do however can you tell me who he married as I have two marriages for this man. I also show that on December 13, 1824 in Grainger County Deed Book H page 575 he divided land with a James McDaniel (whom I believe is his brother) they divided 90 acres.

Now the other James McDaniel in Grainger is not mine either (but I believe he is the brother to John McDaniel born 1795) born about 1800 in the Census but really born in and died March 30, 1853 in Grainger and married Sally Griffin August 11, 1819 in Grainger and bond by John Griffin and had the following Children:

Where Am I going with this I believe that the John McDaniel born 1741 who married Margaret Watkins and your Eli McDaniel born 1742 are brothers and futher more I believe my John's first set of children may have been named John, Eli, Melchi, Robert, and Susan and most or all of them died as my grandmother stated then he married Margaret Watkins look at the names I also believe that the following is the missing John McDaniel from the Bryon McDaniel/McDonald line
