Yes, some of the children of Isaac and Fanny
Dyer did move to
Union Co. TN. However, I do not have a William
Dyer, but there are so many Dyers that he is probably some of my relation. I haven't gotten much information on this family because my ancestor,
Pleasant Dyer, son of Isaac and Fanny
Dyer, moved to
Douglas Co. MO. Some of the other children of
Pleasant also moved to MO. I do have the
Union County marriage records and my records say that there was "no return" on the marriage application for Wiliam
Dyer and Martha
Warwick. As a genealogist, my understanding of that statement is that the marriage did not take place. The application was made 21 Oct 1872. Perhaps they did marry later or perhaps that statement is an error. I see a William
Dyer listed as marrying on 8 Apr 1898 to a Melvina
Mashburn. The children of Isaac and Fanny
Dyer were Cynthia m. William
Wyrick, Elizabeth m. Elijah
Arnwine, Anna m. William
Wyrick, Nancy m. John
Arnwine, Catherine m. Nathan McHurst,
Hampton m. Louisa Dale,
Pleasant m. Margaaret Lane/Lain, Robert m. Susanna Dale, Isaac m. Margaret ? and George m. Olley
Williams. I don't know whether this is of any help to you. I have put my queries out to hopefully find some assistance with putting this family together. I understand that
Grainger and Union counties were just full of
Dyer families so it is terribly confusing to put them together. I would like to hear back from you. Helen Whannel in West Des Moines,
