Can someone please tell me the parents of Gustavus Henry Barber, born 1874-died 1929. He married Lillie Jane Cole in 1895. I can't seem to find him on the 1880 census to prove his parentage.

In checking Ancestry.com, I found the marriage record of Lillie Cole(Cale)and Henry Barber in Giles Co. The date is exact; the witnesses are Andrew Cole & Henry Barber dated April 20 1895.
Hope this helps. I suspect father & son may have had the same names.

I believe this to be Gustavus Henry Barber who is head of household in the 1870 Giles Co., TN census with wife, Anney and a daughter Ellin (age 2).

I am descended from Joanna Barber and husband William Hunnicutt of Giles Co., Tn. Would John Barber be Joanna's brother? I've been unable to locate her parents.
