Sharon: Thank you for your reply. I do not have any Elmer Daily Heath in my line that I have uncovered. Nor do i have any Heaths that have migrated to Oregon that I know of. If I find anything or any leads that come up, I will pass them along your way.

What i have confirmed along my dad's line is what i posted in my earlier note or I would offer to share more. Until I can get past the hurdle on who my g-grandfather's father is, I am stuck in the water as to which line to trace.

Ted Heath

Lynda: I am trying to trace back relatives of Henry S. Heath b. 1833 in Gibson Co. Tenn. Henry married Eliza Jane Campbell in July 1859 in Gibson Co. Henry and Eliza resided in Faulkner Co. Ark in 1882 when my grandfather, Norman H, was born.

Census data link Henry S. to James S. Heath as his father. James was b. 1804 in North Carolina and married Delaney Pate in Aug 1826 in Gibson Co.

And there the trail runs cold. I have multiple sources linking James S to a Richard Heath b. 1774. One source shows Richard having married Ferebe Sharrod in 1886. But he would only have been 12 years old which seems unlikely. I have another source showing Richard having been married to a Dorothy. And another to a Rebecca. Another source lists Richard being born in 1868 and marrying Ferebe Sharrod in 1886. In this case he would have been 18 years old which seems more likely. Each trail has it's own lineage after Richard. But none offer any documentation as to why they list James S as a son and none show any descendants of James S.

Do you have any documentation showing who James S. Heath's parents are as well as any documentation confirming the relationship between Henry S and James S.?

Thanks in advance.

Ted Heath
ted@tethranch.com

I know they had at least 5 children:

Mary b 1844
Thomas Easton b Dec 1845 (my ggg gf) d. 1920
Robert P. - b. 1848 d 1938 (I got Sarena's last name from his death certificate)
William P - b. 1850
Benjamin - b. 1854

Does anyone know anything about this family?
Did you find the records in the Gibson Courthouse or somewhere else? I have a lot of kin who moved to Gibson County in the early 19th c. but the Courthouse told me they won't do lookups for love or money.

I've also found a William T Walker married to a Lillian Beatrice Akin - their son Thomas H married into the Greer side of my family.

She has gone through her life on her birthdays with emptiness/sadness to know a mother she never had..I have stories from her siters, her Aunt Ima Jean who recently passed, but I want to give my mother more, she deserves it...If anyone can give any information on the Davis family,I would love to put together something for her to hold and look at so she knew she had a place in this world..I am her youngest daughter,Debbie.

Yes they are still in business. My brother was laid out there in 2004. The owners are real nice people. It was a real hard day for me and my family and the people down there showed us so much respect for us i'll never forget it. I just wish the people up here in Michigan could have seen it how much respect that was shown down there to a person that they did not know. My hat goes off to everyone in Milan and Bradford that help us.

Re: Sanders family search

So glad to find a person interested in the family of Marshall Hale Sanders. His daughter, Ruamah Elizabeth (Sanders) Rodgers, was my great grandmother. I would be happy to share any information I have about her with you. I prefer email - I'm not too good finding queries on ancestry even though I do search it from time to time. My grandmother, one of the daughters of Ruamah Elizabeth's, lived to be 96, and we had many visits about her mother's family. I have heard about Marshall Hale many times and about Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Ruamah married and left home for Missouri before the Civil War. (Hope you are still interested and searching - glad I happened to see your query)Mrs. DDG
