There was a very old Gibson county family of Jacksons that came from Haywood county NC in the early 1800's. They settled in the Gibson Wells and Edison communites a few miles out in the country from Trenton ,TN. There was a AAA. Jackson and several others. They married into the Motley, and Lawrence families. These were other NC families that they all came down to Gibson county with in the early migration.
There were several brothers and I do not know their names.
I know one was the ancestor of Elbert Jackson who was born in the late 1800's prior to 1900. It could well be that your ancestor was a brother to these folks and moved on to MOII know that there were some Baileys who did the same and they too were with that same original migration of families.
Hope this helps a bit.
You might look for these names Robertson,Pruett,Bledsoe,Meritt. They were also among those early families that migrated from NC.

James
