Hi. I hope you are still about. I am looking for information on a Franklin H. Sorrick. But here is what I have. My great grandfather is Jubal Early Sorrick, B 10/18/1885 Marion Co. Ohio. Sometimes at age 5 yrs or so the family moved to Winchester Tenn. Franklin County. Jubal married Ada Wilson.
Jubal's father is Franklin Harold Sorrick, B-1846 Marion Co. Ohio. Died June 29, 1903 Winchester Tn Franklin Co at age 57. Buried at Winchester Town Cemetary. There is no obituary as he died at home and back then it was not reported for some reason. Franklin wife at the time was Elizabeth margrette Snyder Christman(married before) Sorrick. She only spoke German and lived with my grandparents at home here in Chattanooga until she died.
Franklin was a private in Brown's co. B64 Regiment OIV . His dates are listed on the pension papers I have. He was under General Jubal Anderson Early andhe stated in some letter he thought the world of the general. Henamed my greandfather after him and the general came to visit him In Winchester after the war and hemoved the family to Tn and settled there(where his group had been stationed). He was listed as 5'11" with light complextion(meaning he was white) with dark hair and blue eyes, a farmer. Member of Methodist Episcopal Church in Ohio. Member of Methodist church in Franklin Co. We know he was wounded in the war in his leg and had trouble with it all his life and he died in poor health. NOw, I need to know information on his parents and siblings. Have not been able to find a census for this family yet. But I know for sure Jubal was born in Ohio before they moved down here. Can you help in any way?
Thanks and I hope you get this. P Hill
