I'm looking for information on Johnnie Childress/Childers who married a Mary Sudberry/Sudbury. Their children were Mary Lillie, Thomas, Anna and Martha. Mary Lillie married Charles Reno, Anna married Lucas Johnese and Martha married a Bishop.Johnnie was supposedly blind by the age of 17 and Mary Sudberry Childress died when Anna was just 8 months old, Anna was put into an orphanage at the age of 8 and was in a wheel chair at age 2. If you have any info at all on these people I would greatly appreciate it, I have been looking for the Childress line for a long time now,Thanks.

My Sally Mae Childress was was my mother's GGM, born in Linden County in 1866, and moved to Obion/Dyer County before 1900 Thoughout the early 1900s she was up around the Bogota area.

Mary Lillie Childress was born in 1895,Im not sure about when the others were born. Mary lillie is my great grandmother, she lived in Dyer county for awhile and was married there in 1916, then later moved to Pemiscot County,Missouri. Her death certificate says she was born in Dyer county, and that her parents were Johnnie Childress and Mary Sudberry. Also Mary Lillie went by Lillie usually.I know that Anna "childress" Johnese died in arkansas and that Thomas Childress was living in Chicago when Anna died.

Mary Lillie married Charles in Dec 16, 1912...not 1916.

There were several Childress families from Perry county,TN(Linden is the county seat).They migrated or moved to Gibson in early 1900's.

Look in Crockett or Lauderdale county Tn for the Sudberry family.
