Thomas Jefferson Coleman William S Coleman, Daniel Coleman John Coleman and John W Coleman
Looking for relatives. I descend from Thomas Jefferson Coleman b 1827 in Dickson ...died in yankee prison camp in 1864. Married Priscilla Sugg . Children were 2 girls and 3 boys ,Winfield Scottt Coleman (mentioned in Goodspeed) John Coleman and my great grand father Thomas Jefferson Coleman Jr . He was a constable and became Sherrif of Dickson in the early 1900's My Grandfather Thomas "Frank"lin Coleman spent his formative years living at the Jail house Sheffifs Quarters.
The early Colemans are harder to trace because of the tornado that destroyed the courthouse in 1830. But this is what I know. The family arrived between 1800 and 1810. John Coleman was a representative between 1811 and 1815. Daniel Coleman was here in 1820 and 1830. William Scott Coleman and Elizabeth Tubb Coleman were Thomas Jefferson Coleman's (1827) Aunt and uncle. Elizabeth was his step-aunt. William Scott Coleman was an officator of the court and justice of the peace.Does anyone know anything about the early Coleman's John, John W Daniel and Moses who arrived in Dickson about 1805?
