If your James Robert Hoggard was born 23Nov1840 in Knox County, TN then he is the younger brother of Jesse Haggard. Both are the sons of William Haggard. My records show that he may have ended up in Arkansas. If you have any information on that line then I would appreciate it. I am decended from Jesse Haggard if you would like any information, then I could probably supply it.

Yes, that is my James Robert Hoggard - born 1840 Knox Co Tn, died 1915 in Arkansas. He married Darliskey Elizabeth Barr - he had 2 children who lived to adulthood - I am from his daughter Rebecca Hoggard Stevens Turney.

J.R. married, moved his family to Kentucky during the Civil War, he was in the Tennessee USA Cav.....Becky Hoggard grew up in Kentucky, the family moved for a short time to MO and then to Van Buren/Cleburne Co Arkansas. Becky Hoggard Turney was my great-grandmother. She died in the 1940s. The family lived around the town of Higden, Arkansas which is now in Cleburne County.
