Amanda C. Clark was born in 1837 in Henderson County, Tennessee (the “C” may have been for Catherine). She married James H. Stephens who was born about 1836 and died after 1870. They were married possibly before 1858 (some say 1860) in Decatur County, Tennessee. They lived in Decatur County, Tennessee and it is believed that he owned a sawmill in Swallow Bluff (in 1860 census). They and other family members may have lived in or near Pleasant Point. They were living in Decatur in 1870. Any help with this family is appreciated,
