In the 1880 Crockett County census, my grandfather John Samuel Clark shows up at page 235, district 10. His occupation is listed as "Saloon ... R..." with the last word illegible. It might be "runs" but I'm not sure, since there is a little word just above it.

Is there anyone with access to the original census (or maybe a good copy) who can read just what that says?

Also, John Samuel is living in a boarding house. Can anyone make out the family name of the "Sarah F" who runs the boarding house?
