I was searching the Court Minutes for Cheatham county for information about the divorce of Ruth Hale, nee Jordan (b: 1846) from George Washington Hale (b: 1830). It should have taken place in the late 1880's to early 1890's. Instead, I found something completely different. There's an entry for October 1890, State vs. Hale, George W., "Assault with intent to commit murder in the first degree and malicious cutting". There's also a charge of "Going Armed".

Does anyone know how I would find out more information about this case? For instance, was he found guilty, against whom was the attempted assault, and so forth?

Any help would be appreciated.
