I happen to be reviewing posts since I haven't looked in a long time. I happen to run along your Query. My 3rd great grandfather Sion Taylor was John R. 's brother. If you look in Carter County 1850 census you will see that both were living with their mother Margaret Taylor. Both Sion and John R. Taylor moved to Hawkins County. If you look in the 1860 Hawkins County census you will see that they lived next door to each other. John R's children were named after Sion's wifes. Sion's first wife in Carter County was Amanda Jane Johnson. His second wife was Dianna Miller Taylor in Hawkin's County. I had looked a lot to try and find out who Margaret Taylor's husband was, but hadn't found definite proof. Please contact me if you have further info. My grandparents lived in Hawkins County so I found alot of info in the Library they had there.
