I've wondered if Joseph might be kin to Samuel and William but have not seen any proof. If Joseph were a member of the Christian Church (C of C) he would have attended the Carroll County Christian's Chapel church, rather than Roan's Creek. Christian's Chapel church began before the Civil War with John Neely as minister. Unfortunately their early records are gone.

I have copies of records of the Salt Lick Christian Church in Smith (Macon Co) TN. They say that William and Agness removed their letters in 1826.
