I'm working on the early GRAYs in Campbell Co., TN and noticed that Jacob GRAY born about 1780/1790 and James GRAY born about 1790/1780 are in Campbell Co., TN for the 1830 US Census, but are not there in the 1840 US Census. I believe they went to Madison Co., Arkansas because in the 1840 U.S. Census there is a James GRAY age 20-30 (a bit young) and a Jacob C. GRAY age 50 to 60 (just right). Your Anna GRAY b. 1807 who married Maxwell LAWSON could have been the daugther of either of them? I'm from the Joseph GRAY, Enoch GRAY, and Nathaniel GRAY group and their possible sister Martha GRAY born 26 Nov 1784 in Virginia married 1800 in Washington Co., VA to Edmund GROSS and migrated to Campbell Co., TN area between 1802 and 1805.
