Campbell Co. TN Census 1840 lists the following Bakers,--Thomas, Boling, William,- all in the 40-50 age range. These names are followed by John Baker, 60-70 years, James Baker and Comfort Baker, both 30-40 years. Edward Baker, 40-50 years is listed on the same page with "Malen" Baker,30-40 years. Would appreciate any assistance in identifying the ancestors and children of these Bakers. Bowling Baker was a Justice of the Peace in the 1830's. What was "Bakers Forge" and where was it located? Thomas, Bowling and William may be the elusive sons of my ggg grandfather, James Baker. Thank you. Elizabeth

Elizabeth, I'm not sure if this is the same Baker family, but my 3rd great grandfather was Robert Baker b 5-7-1801 in Campbell County, TN. He married Sarah Christenberry in TN. Their children were Malon b 1822 TN, David E b 4-14-1824 Campbell Co., Eliza b 1830 TN, Greene, Joseph, George, Jane, Elijah, Hiram, Norval, Lucy and Exmon. Everything I have found show they left TN in the early 1830's and went to Indiana. Robert was suppose to have been coroner prior to 1830 in Campbell Co. I have not found any record of this yet. Mahlon was suppose to have been killed during the Civil War and buried in Memphis, TN. David was in the war,he enlisted in Indiana, I am not sure where Mahlon enlisted.

I have been unable to connect Sarah (Christenberry) Baker
with the Christenberry Clan, but my information does concur
that she and her husband (Robert C. Baker) were in Cambell Co. TN until the 1830s. Possible siblings would be Hiram
and Elizabeth "Polly Ann" Christenberry who also had ties
to Cambell Co., TN.

I was able to include some information on the 12 children
of Robert C. and Sarah and some of their descendants in the
Christenberry/Christenbury Genealogy. For information on
this published genealogy, visit site www.brigance.net.

I would be interested in exchanging inf. on the descendants of Robert C. and Sarah in order to make my
Christenberry database more complete.

I'm looking for info on Hamilton Gaither Baker born abt 1823 in Campbell Co. TN. He married Mary B. Smith in 1844 in Pulaski Co. KY. I need his ancestors. Is this your Baker line? I have heard that his parents might be John Baker and Mahala Laws. Thanks.
