I am searching for some information on my ancestor William Jackson and his wife Mary Majors. They were married in Blount Co. Tennessee on 8-10-1817. I would like to find their dates of birth and their parents.
The reason I am responding to your post is that this couple named their first child James Madison Jackson. He was born 1-3-1819.
This family later moved on to Lauderdale Co. Alabama, and then on to Texas.
If you think we could possibly be connected to your Jackson's from Blount Co. please contact me and I would be happy to share info with you.
Thank you..

Sorry to report that my James Madison Jackson and family were in Blount County, TN. in the late 1880's & early 1890's. The father James, and all of the children were born in Virginia, in Lee & Grayson Counties, and traveled to Blount County, TN. following the in-laws, before coming to Kansas City, Jackson County, MO.

I looked under Rogers in the Blount County, TN marriage index 1790 - 1858 that is located at http://www.tngenweb.org/blount/marriage.htm. No Reubens were found.

I don't know but was this post originally sent to me? You might want to check out my DUNLAP family tree since there is the same line between DUNLAP & SWAGGERTY in my tree.

I've no idea who this message was a response to. Apparently the earlier thread isn't included here. And this is a real old post, so I don't remember. Where is your database? Mine is at http://deckershawfamilies.com/galyean/index.htm. If anyone's got more info on Abraham, I'm a direct female descendant of his unknown wife, and have had my mDNA tested. I've seen references to another daughter besides Besty, but no proof, and no female descendants, as far I know. If there's any theories as to Abraham's wife, and this person had a sister, there still might be hope to find a match to confirm the line. Most of the online references I've found for Abraham involve his Rev. War activity, and more significantly, his involvement in the Glasgow Land Fraud case, but nothing about a wife anywhere so far. Also, I've dead ended on William Dunlap who married Betsy Swaggerty. Anything new on that front?

I am having the same problem with William DUNLAP who married Elizabeth Swaggerty. Dead end for me also. If I could get past that point I might be able to find the immigration for my DUNLAP line. Let me know if you ever hear anythingn on this William DUNLAP.
Thanks
