I am trying to find information regarding Captain John Singleton. He purchased land in Blount TN 500 acres. He also built a fort in that area. He died in Blount TN in 1825. Here is additional information that I have. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

On tax list 1800, in Blount County, John Singleton is listed: 500 acres of land, 1 white poll, 2 black polls.
Jan 27, 1806 John Sevier Governor in and over the state of Tennessee appointed Major John Singleton and Major Hugh Kelso of Blount County, commissioners to view the road leading Southwest Point and Tellico to the State of Georgia, which has been lately cut and opened by Aaron Peck.
