Andrew but he had I think 7 sons . I left all my information at my daughters house yesterday for her to put into her computer and am really not able to tell you exact facts without the documentation in front of me but .. My grandparents were Samuel D and Nancy Jane , both with Rathbone as surname . However we feel certain Sammy was the illegitimate child of Jesse James Sutton .Still working on this area .
Also found that somewhere back there one of Andrews daughters married his brother . Purnell was someone my aunts remembered coming by their house . He was what they called " a Dandy ", dressed to the nines . There were always a bunch of kids there and they gave him fits . He didn't want them around to mess up his fine clothes . Dallas was my dad . Not sure you have all of this but its my history. Of Sam's children only Anne Dee is now surviving . She will be 94 in November . I was just with her Aug 2 . She is still living alone and fairly sensible .Still will not tell us any family history concerning Sammies parentage . Aha , I will fix her wagon ! God bless the internet !

I did run into another Rathbone doing a search and he says he traced us back to England where there was a castle , available and unclaimed , to anyone who could prove their direct ancestry to it . I have yet to see anything in true documentation involving such a story .Something to look into though . Not sure I am up to castle cleaning in my old age !
