Well it's a new year and hope blooms eternal. Do any of you fine folks have any info on these people. Sterling Smith (abt 1807TN/NC-1866IL) married abt 1838 to Temperance Singleton (abt 1816TN-1866IL). They lived in Carroll County, Tenn, Stoddard County, Mo. and Alexander County, Ill, where they died. Of their 8 children, 6 died before bearing children. One child, my GGGrandpa, William P. Smith 1850-1923 married Mary Etta Ligon in 1879. They lived in New Madrid County, Mo. William/Mary’s children were Laura, Ernest, Louey, Arnold, Cleveland and Verdia. After Mary Etta (Ligon) Smith died, William married Mrs. Julia (Cobb) Cisco and they moved to Ripley County, Mo. and had one child, Minnie. Sterling and Temperance's other son, James Dixon Smith, married Alice Lee Gossett and they had 5 children, Lillie Cordelia, Mollie D., James A., Hettie Ethel, and Sterling F. They lived in New Madrid and Ripley Counties in MO. Would love to hear from anyone related to or with information on any of these folks. All help is appreciated. Thanks Jack Lane
