I would like to know how Perkins County originated and the name selected. I have ancestors who migrated west through Wisconsin from Greig, Lewis, NY. Their name would be Edwin,
George,John, Orville, Dwight,Ernest, and Levi Perkins. There might be others so any early information on Perkins might be helpfull. This migration started before the Civil
War. Several enlisted from Wisconsin. Lost track of them after that.

I am a decendent a long ways down the line of some of the Perkins' in the area, but I can't think of any particular names. My dad would know more about this. What information do you have on your relation to the Perkins family of that area?
