Hi,
Yes, I would love to have pictures and stories, if it is not too much trouble to write them down. I have a pictorial history book that I have made for my Grandmother and her family, so anything more that I can add will be delightful.
The family did not all come over together....I believe, I have to look at the facts again, that Matilda came over first, but I will send that to you as well. My Grandmother came over in 1891, John in 1893, and Selma in 1899.John and Selma were staying at Matilda's home during one of the censuses. I can no longer get on Ancestry.com, but they offer a two week free session and you could get on and search for Louisa's ships passenger list and also see census records. It is so much fun. I can do a partial search from here but they won't let me see all the facts. You can, though during that two week period. From the internet you can possibly, do a cemetery search for internments for Lyon County, Larchwood, Iowa. I will also search and see what I can find.
I have the information for who Louisa's parents were. On Rootsweb, see if you can type in John Fingal Anderson. Hopefully, it will take you to the place that I and another llady were doing a search and people replied that had gone through some Swedish records. If you can't find it,let me know, and I will do it for you. I just didn't want to take the fun of the exploration away from you...
Ok, enough for now...I have to send the pictures to you that you will want. It is so good to talk with you...I am so looking forward to receiving pictures of Louisa, her children, and you to put into the book. Now that I have met you...I want to know you too! Warmly, joey

Hi
This is so wonderful. My father is still living and he has been the source of most of my information. When I called him last night, he said that after I said it, he did remember the name Brandt from his family. He also has a cousin, Nerine, who is AnnaBell's daughter. She is 90 and also remembers various things. I have a picture of Louisa and Dad has some stories about her. She did marry Ole Olson who had been a boarder with them before Lars died. This was the only 'Grandpa' Dad ever knew. My dad's dad was Arthur. He passed away in 1966. 'Unc' was Uncle Ellis. He passed away in the early 1980's. Aunt Bertha and her husband committed suicide in the 50's. Uncle Tennie had a twin Teddie who died before he was a year old. With my daughter's help, I will send a picture of Great Grandma Louisa if you would like. We can see if there is any family resemblance with your Grandma. Dad remembers going to Sioux Falls to see Uncle Tobias and Aunt Anna's children. He especially remembers Ralph and Theodore. Do you know who Louisa's parents were? Did the girls all come to the United States together? We had heard at one time that Louisa met Lars when the ship stopped in England and they then came over together. Lars was from Norway. I know nothing about him or what he died of so young. Have looked for his grave in Larchwood but couldn't find it. Am going one of these days to the County seat to search the cemetery records to find it. I live here in Harrisburg, S. Dak. where the family has been since Louisa moved here with the children. Thanks for sharing!!!!

Hello,
I am searching for descendants of Tobias and Anna Christine Anderson Larson. Anna Christine was the sister of my Grandmother Ida Anderson Knipfer. They lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Any records that my Grandmother had about her family after they came from Sweden burned in a house fire...hence my search. Their other siblings were, Selma Anderson Newman(Neuman), John Fingal Anderson, Matilda Anderson Brandt. Another sister stayed in Sweden.
Thanks, joey

Hi,
I guess this will prove that Ishould never give up hope of someone contacting me.
In my search for my Grandmother Ida's family, I also contacted the descendants of her brother, John Fingal Anderson. I have pictures that I am willing to share. My email address is shugatj2@comast.net
Grandma had a house fire which destroyed any records that she might have had about her family. Grandma died in April of 1961 and John later that year I believed. He also lived in Sioux Falls. So I am not surprised that their sisters Louisa and Anna lived there as well. Grandma got married in Sioux Falls in 1893 but did not live there. I found her ships passenger list from Ancestry.com. I don't have a subscription anymore which hinders me from doing a further search for her sisters. Grandma married Frank Knipfer and they moved from North English Iowa(Grandpa's family was from there) to New Auburn, Wisconsin.
I have not had any contact from the Brandt descendants(Matilda Anderson Brandt) who also lived in Larchwood. I often wonder if she movrd to Sioux Falls as well. Their sister Selma married a Grant Newman(Neuman) but I have to look in my records again, if I printed them off, to see where she lived. She was a twin to John.
Thank you for responding...now I have more to add to my history book. Please write to me on my email address...I can send photos, if you want, from there. I do not have photos of Louisa and Anna to share. However, there is a nice one of Selma and John with John's wife and of course, photos of my Grandmother, if you want. Warmly, joey

Hi! I just saw your message. I am new to this. My great grandfather was Lars Larson. His wife was Louisa. My grandfather died sometime between 1895 and 1899 in Larchwood. Louisa moved to South Dakota with her children (Ellis, Arthur, Bertha, Tennie and AnnaBell) and later married Ole Olson. She lived in Sioux Falls until her death in 1951. Lars' brother Tobias married Louisa's sister Anna Christine and they also lived in Sioux Falls. Tobias, Anna, and Louisa are all buried in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Harrisburg, S. Dak. Any information you have about the family would be greatly appreciated. Hope this helps Sandi

Albert Nelson is in Vermillion Clay County S Dakota in 1880. The information about his date of birth and place of birth comes from an obit sent to me by his granddaughter Bonnie Barsness nee Nelson...the obit did not include the newspaper and date of publication on the clipping. Emma Bergqvist was the daughter of Jacob Bergqvist born in 1830 found in Nederlulea in the 1890 census and his first wife Eva Sofia Hansdotter. My grandmother Olga Victoria Bergquist was born in Dell Rapids in 1889 her parents were Carl Jacob Bergquist and Hilda Marie Henriksdotter. She also had cousins named Wilson in Minnehaha County. Minnie Johnson married Henry Wilson...son Guy was a Barber and World War 1 vet. I haven't figured out where this family connects to the family tree ...do know that Mrs Minnie Wilson attended Emma Nelson's funeral. Hilda Marie Henriksdotter was born in Degerfors Vasterbotten and came to America in 1881 with a family named Broman.

M/M Jonas Peter Nelson were born in Kalmar Lan (Province) / Smaland Landskap (Province) in Sweden.

Your comments lead me to another family / clan. Who were Albert Nelson's parents and who were Emma Bergquist's parents. There is an Erick Bergquist from Vasternorrland Lan (Province) in "History of the Swedes Who Settled in Clay County, South Dakota and Their Biographies" by August Peterson (1947). Which township was Albert Nelson living in in Clay County in 1880?

Ron Johnson

Could Albert Nelson born in 1856 in Nederlulea Norrbotten Sweden be a brother to Jonas? He is in Clay County in the 1880 census, a laborer staying at Axlund's hotel. He married my great grandfather's sister Emma Bergqvist...she was also born in Nederlulea and immigrated in 1879 to America. They lived in Potter County for a time and Emma is buried at Beresford and Albert is buried in Centerville South Dakota.
