Viola V. Scholz (nee Lindgren), born April 7, 1914, in Marvin, (Grant county) South Dakota, died on Saturday, January 29, 2011, in Madison, Dane county, Wisconsin. Vi was first of nine children of Carl V. Lindgren and Alma V. (Swanson) Lindgren. She was married to Philip R. Dickie from December 28, 1938 until June 1954, and to Harold F. "Bob" Scholz from June 14, 1958 until February 10, 1994. Vi grew up in Watertown, South Dakota, subsequently living in Little Falls, Minnesota, Rhinelander, Wausau, and Shawano, Wisconsin. She returned to Watertown after Bob's death; then lived her last six years in Madison, Wisconsin. Vi is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. "Bobbie" Dickie; grandson, Richard A. Dickie; stepson, John F. Scholz; their children, Matt, Amanda, and Beth; and John's four grandchildren. She is further survived by three siblings, Shirley Shields, Phyllis Johnson and Joann Hubbard. In addition, she is survived by 34 nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bob; and five siblings.
