I am curious if you ever found any information about adoption in Aberdeen, SD in those years. My mother was born in 1917 in Aberdeen (according to her birth certificate) and father was unknown. I know she was adopted out of St.John's Orphanage in Fargo, North Dakota in early 1919. That Orphanage was run by Presentation Sisters (catholic nuns). I read that they also were in Aberdeen, SD in early 1900's so I wondered if there was a connection between unwed mothers giving birth in Aberdeen at a hospital maybe run by these nuns, and the Orphanage they ran in Fargo at the time. If you have found any information on this subject, please let me know.
