Classification: Query
Surnames: Nelson, O'Donnell
All I know of her biological family is what I posted. No name for her biological father, only that he was Irish, and died in WWI. On my mother's birth certificate it read "father unknown", but I got more information from adoption agency in Fargo, N.D. a year ago, regarding his Irish descent and how he died. I only know my mother's given name at birth (Anna Margaret Nelson), her mother's name: Anna Nelson age 21 in 1917 (born about 1896 in U.S.); Margaret may be significant, if it is a family name. Do you have any Margaret's in your family? My mother's adoption records also indicated that her mother Anna Nelson was of Irish and Norwegian descent. If she was single at time my mother was born 1917, then Nelson is her father's name (Is that possibly Irish? or likely Norwegian?). Your O'Donnell name is Irish, correct? If you could check your family tree, maybe that would help me. Since my mother Anna Margaret Nelson was adopted at age 1 year in 1919, I am wondering if her mother maybe died in the Flu Epidemic at that time. I would appreciate any information that might be helpful to me.
