I'm looking for help on finding any information on Martha Broer. SHe was born Feb 1899 in Iowa, near Peterson, Clay Co. She is the daughter of Henry Broer and Caroline S. Bolte. They moved to South Dakota about 1910.
Family members remember she married and died a short time afterwards. Some time about 1925- 1930. Her husband was Paul ___.
I have her in the 1920 Census in Grant township, Beadle Co. SD. as 21 and a teacher.

Does anyone have a book of marriage records that they could look in???

A look at a copy of the original (at Ancestry.com) shows that Paul was age 27, a bachelor, and lived in Huron. Martha also lived in Huron. The clergyman performing the marriage was R.C. Keagy, M.E. Clergyman. Also, it appears that Paul's last name might be spelled Brzezonsky or Brzezousky. It definitely is a Y at the end of the name and not an I as the index showed. It is register #2247.

I didn't find a death record for Martha, but I did for Paul and it shows yet another spelling:

His date of death made me wonder if the family was remembering incorrectly...and that Paul was the one who died first. So I found them in the 1930 census for you:

I have a copy of Paul's mother's obit from Jan. 11, 1951 that was just republished, March 19, 2009 in the Sanborn Weekly Journal, Woonsocket, SD if anyone is interested.

I would like to receive the obituary for Paul's mother. I tried going to the Sanborn Weekly Journal to find it and couldn't. Do you have a web link to it??? Thanks April

no the lady isn't keeping up the website. My daughter works there but they charge for the obits if you get one mailed to you it is $5.00. At least this one they should have on hand as it is in this weeks paper.
