In 2005, Herbert Hendricks asked me to join the Hendricks DNA Project. In 2008, he asked if I would join him as the Co-Administrator for the Project and I accepted. I have not heard from Herbert since that time. Anyone have knowledge of Herbert may contact me off-line at
HendricksDNA@Charter.net.
I do not possess the intimate knowledge of Herbert and very much miss his assistance. The Project needs help from those with intimate knowledge of the various Hendrick/Hendricks/Hendrix families that resided in and passed through South Carolina.
We are currently trying to learn about the family associated with John T. Hendricks/Hendrix. His Civil War record establishes that he was born about 1810 in the Pendleton District. About 1831, in Monroe county, TN, John T. married Catherine Stafford. He settled in Franklin County, TN in 1845, where he lived out his life. The Y-DNA results from two of his descendants reveals that John T Hendricks/Hendrix is not associated with the following families that are known to have lived in or passed through South Carolina:
The Moses Hendricks Family of the Old Pendleton District SC
The James Hendricks Family of Newberry SC
The Hendricks/Hendrix family of Elbert County, GA
The Frontier Hendricks family of Albertus Hendricks
The Daniel Hendrick/Hendricks family of Bulloch County, GA
The Pamunkey Hendricks family of Hance Hendricks
Any and all assistance will be appreciated.
