Mr Gibbon ~

I, ALSO, am conducting research on the Stephen Watson "line," and have a few comments / inquiries that I hope you could assist me with . . . .

Stephen Watson & his southern-born wife (a staunch defender of the Confederacy) made a name for themselves as cotton merchants in Great Britain. CSA Special Agent Edward Anderson mentions them in his “Confederate Secret Agent” book.

Yet, you claim that a "Sinclair Watson" was a Cotton Merchant in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.

What might be the relationship between "Stephen" and "Sinclair?" OR ..... might it be a mistaking of information on either Ed Anderson's part, or (maybe?) yours?

This I*S kind of important, to me. Can you, please, respond to my e*mail address (stevensdr@hotmail.com), since I rarely check these bulletin boards? Your attention to this matter is GREATLY appreciated!!

DS.

PS: I*F you know of a location where I might be able to obtain a good B/W image of "Stephen" (-or- "Sinclair"), would you please be so kind as to inform me?
Robert Peyre-Ferry was my grandfather's brother(George F Peyre-Ferry III). I remember my grandmother telling me that my grandfather had a brother who was more like a father to him because he was so much older. George was born in 1914 so that would make Robert 17 years older than him. I think that makes us second cousins once removed or something like that.

My name is Ciara and I used my friend Gretchens account. Ive been doing some research on the Fords, I am descended from George Ford, Sr. His father was Stephen Ford, Jr, and his father was Stephen Ford, Sr. He came to SC c1699, because in 1699, he was granted land in Colleton District, SC. I recently learned of the Ford burying ground in Georgetown where many of their descendants are buried and I plan on going there soon. I would be willing to look for anything you need while I am there!
