Stephen Watson (1797-1878), Merchant and British Subject (born Manchester, UK), lived in Charleston between 1824 until between 1851 and 1861. He is listed in the 1850 US census with wife Eliza T (the T stands for Torrenza, a name that has since passed down the generations). He is also listed as a slave owner in the 1850 census. Athough in the US census it is stated that Eliza was born in UK, later census taken in Britain list her as born in Charleston (they appear in 1861 census in Liverpool, and thereafter until their deaths). I cannot locate a record of their marriage through Ancestry online, can anyone advise me of where to look? I would love to know her maiden name.
