Good Morning,

I am trying to locate information on my family. My grandmother's name was Elise Sally Howard she was born according to her S.S app to Sally Borden and Tom Howard on April 1, 1913 in Richland County, SC. At some point she moved to Sumter County. She married Issac Ballard and had several kids before he passed away. Family stories have it that Issac passed away before 1936 (Can't find his death cert) She had several more kids then moved to Phila, Pa where she lived until her death. According to varies stories Elise had somewhere between 13-16 kids, many of whom died shortly after birth.

In addition to my grandmother (Elise) Tom and Sally had three other kids. Rose (Honey); James, Frank. At a min I would think that I would be able to find Tom Sally and Elise in the 1920 census and Elise and at least three of her kids in the 1930 census. I have not find anything. It took my father almost 2 years for S.C vital records to send him a copy of his birth cert, and at least one of my aunts was never able to get a copy of her birth records. I located one of Honey's kids who informed me that it was not uncommon for children to live with other family members and believes that Tom and Sally may have sent Elise to live with other family members when she was younger. But I have no information on Tom or Sally so I have hit a brick wall of sorts.

At this point looking for any information that my help.
