I was wondering if someone could look up a story in one of the local papers. I am trying to find information on a bomber training accident that happened Feb. 23 1943 the plane went down in Lake Murray, My grandfathers youngest brother was killed in this accident. He was 2nd Lt. John E. Hancock. Our hometown newspaper had limited info,the last thing reported was that the Army was continuing the search for his body and would notify the family when they had. According to my uncle he doesn't believe the body was recovered, and I'm confident that he is right. I am just curious as to why the search ended and what efforts were made. If anyone can help I will gladly cover any expenses. or if someone knows if there is a way to search for this on line I would appreciate it. Thank you, Ed
