In June of 1978 The Times (daily newspaper of Gainesville, GA) published two articles about the Martins from Pickens South Carolina coming to Hall County Georgia in the early 1800’s (David is shown in the 1830 Census of Hall County).
The articles expressed a great deal of uncertainty about the relationship of David Martin (Abt. 1798 - 1879), Absalom Martin (1772? - ????), Gideon Martin (1777? - 1840?) and Elizabeth Martin (???? - Aft. 1840?), except that Elizabeth was the widowed Mother of one or more of the men mentioned.
Has anyone in Pickens County, researching these Martins, ever reconciled or proved these relationships?
