REIDSVILLE, NC - Eunice Gillespie Cox, 94, formerly of 11377 Cherry Grove Road, Reidsville, N.C., died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday June 2, 2009, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1821 Ashley Road, Reidsville.

She was a native of Seneca., S.C., and lived in Caswell County, most of her life.

She was a member of Thompsonville Baptist Church and a former elementary school teacher at Cherry Grove School and Anderson School in Caswell County.

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, James Lester Cox Sr.; a son, Jerry Wayne Cox; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Rentz Cox; three sisters; and six brothers.

Surviving are a son, James L. "Jim" Cox, of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Judy Cox Kerr, and husband, Douglass, of Greensboro; a sister, Bernice Gillespie, of Clemson, S.C.; three grandchildren, Catherine Cox White, Michael James Cox and Alexandra Douglass Kerr; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will see friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday June 1, 2009, at Citty Funeral Home.
