Read your message relavent to Neville Buring Ground in Walhalla, Oconee County, SC. IN which you stated a number of the Kelley's buried there were related to you. I have a Great Grandfather Joseph H. KELLEY and his wife Elizabeth HUNNICUTT (no other info on her yet) Kelley buried in Neville both have markers on their grave sites.(The last time I was there, the marker for Joseph H. was broken in half. There was also a marker showing he was veteran of the war between the states. I have traced my line back to James Kelley and have the banns for his marriage to Sarah(Sally) Sullins (Sullings) in Rutherford County NC., in July 1807 but I have not been able to trace him any further back, where he was born or how he came to be in NC. Census that I have checked show him born in Ireland, but I question this. Have lots of info, some confirmed some just speculation.

Surnames: Kelley/Kelly
My ancestor is William B. Kelley/Kelly. He was born around 1762 in SC, but I don't know where. AND I don't have any info on his parents, sibs, etc.

There are lots of Joseph and James in my tree. In fact, my brothers are named Joseph and James. Joe is actually for the Kelley side and Jim is actually for my mother's side of the house which is Shelley.

William ended up in GA and married to a lady named Winifred. She was his 2nd wife and I don't know who his first wife was. But, he had children with both ladies.

Just taking a chance you might see this or someone else might that has connections to this elusive man.

Thanks so much,

Rhonda Kelley Seymour

I have a large Kelley line on my dad's side in Oconee County. My paternal great grandmother, Minerva Kelley married a Burrell. Her parents were William Kelley & Martha Lusk. Her grandparents were Joseph W. Kelley and Alicey (?). Could this be in your line?
